Generation X. Born between 1965 and 1980.
They built the internet, helped their parents log into it, and trained their kids to use it, without making a thread about any of it.
Not invisible because the world forgot them, invisible because they chose it.
A childhood alone after school. Learning early: if something goes wrong, you handle it yourself.
That’s where the independence, the resilience, and the emotional distance came from.
What looks like distance is actually emotional minimalism.
Not saying “I love you.” Just showing up. Fixing things. Handling the problem.
