Annie Humphrey was born and raised on an Ojibwe Indian reservation in Northern Minnesota. Growing up, music was always part of her culture and in her home. Eager to explore the world, she joined the US Marines and was stationed in Japan. When she returned back to Minnesota, she decided to live an organic life close to nature and has become an advocate for preserving the land and protecting the wildlife. Her original music and lyrics are the product of her own life experiences.
Prairie Musicians is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4th 2008, the North Dakota Humanities Council -- a non profit independent state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the North Dakota Council On The Arts, and by the members of Prairie Public.
