Clean With Kate's Freshen Up Friday is a weekly cleaning routine that I created in my hom several years ago, originally inspired by Mrs Hinch. Its a kind of mini Flylady weekly home blessing that I do every Friday.. It's designed to give your home a quick refresh before the weekend, without spending hours scrubbing and deep cleaning.

Here’s what Freshen Up Friday typically includes:

🧼 Light Surface Cleaning – Wiping down kitchen counters, bathroom sinks, and other high-traffic areas.
🛋️ Tidy-Up Time – A quick declutter and tidy of main living areas like the kitchen, lounge and hallway.
🧹 Floor Freshen Up – A speedy vacuum and mop of key rooms.
🕯️ Finishing Touches – Emptying bins, fluffing cushions, lighting a candle, or adding fresh flowers or a room fragrance to make your home feel lovely for the weekend.

My goal is to walk into a calm, clean space on Friday evening, and to be company ready without doing a full deep clean. It’s part of my friendly and practical approach to home care, inspired by the FlyLady method but adapted for real life.

I use the flylady system to manage my home and to keep my sanity, and I'll be sharing the little cleaning hacks and house cleaning tips I've learned along the way to motivate me to speed clean my house, and enable me to have fun while doing the cleaning. I'll also be doing lots of decluttering and organising.
