Jayanti is a secluded tourist destination at the heart of North Bengal that has long been on my bucket list. It is literally where the road ends, travelling through an eerie forest and mixing into the river and the mountains beyond.
So one morning, we made the long trip to Jayanti to explore the place. We traveled through narrow pathways, past river beds and ancient trees. We drove past roadside temples and reached the famous abandoned railway bridge in the middle of the Jayanti River.
We dipped our feet in the ice cold water flowing from the hills and watched flurry clouds serenade mystic mountains, and left with a promise to return again, some day soon.
