00:45 Chlorination Definition
01:02 Types of Chlorination
01:07 Plain Chlorination
Plain chlorination: When the raw water contains turbidity less than 10 NTU, obtained from unpolluted lakes or reservoirs, the water could be supplied to the public without any treatment except chlorination. Such chlorination is called plain chlorination. The dosage of chlorine for plain chlorination is about 0.5 mg/L.
01:35 Pre Chlorination
Pre-chlorination is a term used in professional water treatment of potable water, sewage, or industrial water, and refers to chlorination which takes place at a particular point in the complete multi-stage treatment process . . . specifically, at the beginning BEFORE other treatment begins.
02:07 Post Chlorination
Chemicals such as chlorine and alum are added to the influent water and it goes through the process of coagulation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection for post-chlorination. Once chlorine disinfection is committed after the filtration process, water arrives at the storage tank to be mixed properly.
02:23 Double Chlorination
When chlorine is added to water at more than one points is called Double Chlorination.
It's used when water is height of Turbidity and Contaminant
02:46 Super Chlorination
Superchlorination is a water treatment process in which the addition of excess amounts of chlorine to a water supply speed chemical reactions or insure disinfection within a short contact time.
03:04 Back Point Chlorination
The definition of breakpoint chlorination is the point at which the disinfection demand has been met, or all undesirable contaminants in the pool have been oxidized. Think of as a tipping point, at which oxidation is complete, and further additions of shock chlorine or other oxidizer are unnecessary and unfruitful.
03:24 Dechlorination
Dechlorination is the process of removing residual chlorine from disinfected wastewater prior to discharge into the environment. Sulfur dioxide is most commonly used for dechlorination and is the major focus of this fact sheet.
