[UNBOXING + REVIEW] N Scale Atlas NJT ALP-45DP + Multilevel "Modern Commuter Train"

Описание: 10/5/19: WHAT UPPP, IT'S YO BOY NSCALE (in N scale lol) and welcome to... an unboxing and review of the new NJT model trains-AHH, insanes-AHH, off the chains-AHH! Mah boys, yall prolly talkin' bout some "yo, how come yo nerdy ass gon' do a review, even tho you damn near never do?!"

Yall, what's good is that it's been a H-AHH-T minute since any modern passenger trains have been released in N scale... aside from the dope ass SMART trains yo boy built earlier this year! So I'm HYPE, and I'm sure mah peeps who model modern trains are too! Also, Atlas been talkin' bout some "3rd quarter 2018" for the release of these joints, and STAYED delaying them! That was that bullsh#t! 😒 But yo, it's all good, cause... I know some sh#t was goin' down in the Atlas factories in China! And besides, better late than never lol!

Especially when yo boy saw these same NJT trains that Atlas made in HO (HOes... noes? XD) scale, back in 2017-AHH... mah boys, that sh#t looked straight FIRE!!! 🔥 The detail was on point, and the locomotive/cabcar/interior lights O_____O AHH was like HOLD UP!! That and Atlas's Master line is tha sh#t: yo boy had plenty of Master locos and rollin' stock way back in the day, and Atlas Master is tha BIG BOESS of lil' N scale fo' real with details and features on 'em!

0:07 OHHHH SH#T, off the bat we do the damn thing with the unboxing on yall! Yo, Atlas was doin' MADRRRR work: the detail is off the damn chain! The roof markings, lil' seats in the coaches... and the pantograph that goes up and down (PAUSE)... WHAAAAT?! Guess you could say yo boy was SHOCKED, when I checked how detailed the lil' pantograph was HH HH HH HH 😆

3:44, 7:09 Next, let's roll with the operation test! At first, the single locomotive and 2 cars be killin' it! The loco be rollin' slow (it gets a lil' fasterrrr after warming up, but still... more on that in a sec) but smooth as f#%k! And the lights, hold up mah boys! Who was in the design studio doin' work?! O_O cause this sh#t is LIT!! LOL Both the locomotive and cab cars have headlights, red marker lights and ditch lights! The locomotive even has red lights on the back, ohhh sh#t! But yo, what I'm really talkin' bout is that the Multilevel coaches have interior lighting on both floors! Double interior lights, double dululululs! O__O

7:45 Now the long ass train test was not so h-AHH-t... no pauses on that! That's the whole reason I bought 4 sets, so I could test 4 locomotives and 8 cars rollin' together lol! I know, the numbahs are the same... but yo boy can handle that in the future when I get around to printing decal sets! Now I hate to say it mah boys, but we took an L in N scale! The cab ends and locomotives have body-mount couplers, but all the regular ends of the coaches have truck-mount couplers! 💩 Now that's that bull bull! For those of yall who don't know, truck-mount couplers are wack and are usually used for cheap ass trains! But even worse, truck-mounts and body-mounts don't mix, so when yo boy saw that sh#t on these NJT sets... oh hell no!

I was right when I knew these couplers were gonna be a problem! Welp, sure enough these mothaf#%kas derail on every damn turn... Atlas, for real? 🤬 I mean I use 12 3/8" radius turns on the test track, which is tighter than what I use elsewhere, but still not that tight (pause)! I mean bruh, there is a workaround where you couple the cab ends together/ to the locomotive and all the other ends together so the sh#ts don't mix... but yo, still!

9:21 Hold up, what if we try 8 cars and one locomotive? This joint pulls 8 cars like a BOESS... but needs to haul more ALSS! The legit top speed of an ALP-45DP is 125 mph, yet even after breaking in, the Atlas model does well under A-HUNNED (scale) mph! 🐌 To be fair, yo boy's test track is powered by a 12-volt Kato power pack, when most packs sold in the US be doin' work with 15V! But still, I doubt 15V can get these rollin' all the way up to 125!

It's a wrap mah boys, I'm done! So in the end, these models look GOODRRRR, but have some big ass flaws... sh#t looks off the chain, but runs off the rails! But I kinda have to give mah peeps at Atlas a pass on dat ass, cause this is only the first time they released these joints in N scale: Atlas ORIGINAL RECIPE!

What's good (pros):
-Details on point
-Lights look H-AHH-T! O___O
-Locomotive pulls like a BOESS and is smooth as hell!

What's wack (cons):
-Truck mount couplers on non-cab coaches 🤬
-Locomotive needs to roll a lil' fasterrrr! (on 12V at least)
