The MDHHS Infection Prevention Resource and Assessment Team (IPRAT) is a team of subject matter experts from the Communicable Disease Division.

IPRAT partners and collaborates with Local Health Departments (LHDs), Long Term Care facilities (LTCs), and other congregate settings to provide and strengthen infection prevention practice, containment strategies, and prevention plans. The Learning Objective for this video include understanding the differences between cleaning and disinfection, understanding why cleaning is an essential step before disinfection, recognizing the importance of following manufacturer’s instructions for use, recognizing the importance of following facility’s policies, knowing the contact times (and what that means) for disinfectant products used in your facility, and recognizing special considerations for isolation rooms.
