In this episode, our esteemed faculty, Ms Janaki Thadani explores the landmark case of Bandhua Mukti Morcha vs. Union of India & Ors. The case was initiated by Bandhua Mukti Morcha, a non-governmental organization committed to fighting bonded labour. The petition was filed as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) under Article 32 of the Constitution, bringing to light the inhumane conditions of bonded laborers in stone quarries of Haryana.
