Cleveland weather: Few snow showers and a mix of sun and clouds on Wednesday with temps near 40

A reinforcing shot of cold air arrives tomorrow, bringing a few snow showers through northern Ohio before we clear out by afternoon. Temps on Wednesday will have a hard time getting out of the 30s!

An area of high pressure will swing through Thursday, switching our wind around to the southwest by afternoon. This will help to bump our temps up to near average in the low 50s. We'll have to keep our eye out for a sneaky rain chance on Thursday as the change in pattern takes shape over us.


By Friday, warmer air will be trying hard to flow into northern Ohio. We can't rule out a few showers or storms as this transition continues to take place. We should push into the low 60s Friday with variable clouds and that rain chance.

This is all out ahead of a much bigger storm system that sets up to our west this weekend. Models still differ on where the low and attached warm front goes -- this has big implications on our temperature forecast for the weekend.

For now, we'll settle with the idea that the warm front lifts north of us which would bring a surge of 60s and low 70s to northern Ohio Saturday with some sunshine breaking out -- but if this warm front settles right over us, we'd have rain and cooler temps.

In all scenarios, we turn stormy on Sunday into Monday with the threat for a few strong storms.

Cool air settles back in to start next week before another warm up looks likely beyond that.
