Arizona Sonoran begins Cactus project financing as PFS nears

Описание: Arizona Sonoran Copper Company (TSX: ASCU; OTCQX: ASCUF) is advancing its Cactus Project in Arizona to deliver U.S. copper cathode as policymakers push for more domestic supply. President and CEO George Ogilvie said, “We believe we’re going to have a very robust project based on that,” noting the COMEX–LME arbitrage has faded and the company is using long-term LME pricing assumptions.

The pre-feasibility study will be presented to the board this month, with financial details to follow. Project financing is underway with Hannam & Partners, and a data room is scheduled to open to approximately a dozen NDA groups in early October. Regarding the federal backing for U.S. cathode production, he added, “puts a tremendous amount of wind in our sails.” Ogilvie highlighted Cactus as a private-land, brownfield project with permits, water access, strong infrastructure, and copper cathode production using heap leach and SX-EW.

Near-term catalysts include a new mineral resource estimate, the PFS release, permit applications early next year, and a goal of obtaining final permits by summer or early fall, alongside a bankable feasibility study and financing through the end of next year, positioning the project for first production within two to three years.
