How I build an oval bark textured bonsai pot.
I use a pottery wheel for the rim and add the texture at that point using sodium silicate and a torch over some slip to get a really rough bark texture. Then attach the rim to a slab of clay for the base of the pot. When I have it all smoothed up and flipped upside down, then I add the feet.
It’s a long video even after speeding most of it up 2x and cutting out a lot of unnecessary parts, but thanks for watching!
I’ll be posting an update on glazing and firing it after it dries so you can see the final pot!
