HOPEKOOK is known as the "Golden" duo. Hobi is the Golden Hyung, while Jungkook is the Golden Maknae.

Just like most K-pop groups, BTS is also divided into units: the Rap Line and the Vocal Line. But those are not the only official units of BTS. There's also the Hyung Line and the Maknae Line. But BTS had been switching things up, resulting in temporary units. And that is how we got this masterpiece from JanJanKook.

Despite belonging to different official units, Hobi and Jungkook have a lot in common, and their love for dancing is arguably at the top of the list. There's actually one more official BTS unit, which featured both Hobi and Jungkook, plus Jimin — the "Dance Line" aka 3J. As for their vocals, Hobi and Jungkook are not that similar.... Or are they?

In Episode 2 of “In The Soop” Season 1, Hobi was lounging on a chair while on his phone. A beautiful voice can be heard singing to Park Hyo Shin’s “Breath.”

Even though the camera was on Hobi, his mouth wasn’t moving that much. Based on the quality of the voice, many assumed it was Jungkook, who was out of the camera's view. But after watching the clip repeatedly, ARMY realized it was Hobi who was singing and not Jungkook. While many already knew that Hobi had a beautiful voice, nobody expected him to sound like BTS’s main vocalist.

That wasn't the only time Hobi sounded like Jungkook. In fact, he sounded so similar to JK that one of his clips started a fan war. That less than 4-second clip almost caused a riot in the fandom. While it was clearly Hobi singing, some argued it was Jungkook’s voice. I understand that sounded so much like Jungkook here. But here are a couple of proofs that Hobi has a habit of singing while walking to his destination. Just like that clip that caused a fan war.

Jungkook is known for his perfect pitch. Meanwhile, Hobi has an ear for the perfect pitch. Hobi had been vocal about how impressed he was with Jungkook’s skills. That was probably one of the reasons why he collaborated with him in "I Wonder". And it was through Hobi's direction that we got those beautiful vocals from Jungkook.

Hobi has a distinctive tone when rapping and when singing in his usual register. But when he's singing higher than that, that's when he sounds like Jungkook. Despite his already impressive vocals, Hobi had always said he wanted to be better at singing. Now, he is flaunting his hard work. Here he is practicing "I Wonder" and singing Jungkook's part while sounding exactly like him. Compare Hobi's tone to Jungkook's.

With Hobi's humility, I doubt that he knows that he sings like Jungkook. He even unknowingly used his "Jungkook vocals" to welcome JK to the rehearsal!

Even when Hobi was discussing some details with staff, he'd suddenly sing in a high note, and it sounded like JK. You see, Hobi may be known for his raspy voice, but he has no problem hitting a high note.
