Описание: Cystatin C is small protein produced by body cells which contain nucleus.
Can found in variety of body fluids such as Blood ,Spinal fluid & Breast milk.
Blood Cystatin C level is remain in constant in healthy people’s body.
If kidney function declines, the blood concentration rises.
Concentrations of Cystatin C vary little with sex, age or race and are not affected by most drugs, infections or diet.

People with an overactive thyroid, Some cancers (Cells produce Cystatin C) ,People taking Steroid medication, Smoking and Inflammation are some examples.

It is better marker to evaluate Kidney function than creatinine.
