Just a theory...
I think their village had a disease spread by someone or somewhere (it could have been from their enemies during wartime, as there are naval mines and ammos), which made them crazy and turn on each other, OR it could have been that the enemy had already infiltrated their village and was trying to find anyone who was still alive and kill them on sight, (and that is where the kids' imagination comes to play and makes them see bad people/things differently). But there was also a scene where the girl kind of got possessed or something as she was floating mid-air, it could also be a work of a cult...
Its just a theory that I based on the trailer and the demo, I could be 1000% wrong
What do you guys think?
