The main theme of the song is played on both Guitar and Persian Setar (triple neck fusetar), while a semi-acoustic fretless bass keeps the groove. The use of the little chain and coins on the 1st bass string is an interesting creative touch that adds a tambourine-like timbre to the overall sound.
Shahab Tolouie composed this song about 15 years ago. Over time he has made some minor changes to the main theme, which was previously written for quintet. This is an abridged version of the song for demonstration purposes; the full length piece will be released officially on the upcoming album "Terra Mediterranea"
As Shahab always says,
"I love the honesty of a good duo or trio. They're my favorite formations. There have been fantastic history-making trios like "Police", "Cream" and "Guitar trio". The trio can express the music in a very candid way. A duo is even more challenging; as simple as it can sound, it is unforgiving as rock. Since you can't hide your mistakes behind other instruments, you have to play well. And that's what's so good about it."
