Did you know that every year in June, hidden from view, rare and endangered migratory fish – twaite shad - are returning out to sea through the Severn Estuary and the Bristol Channel, after an epic spawning migration up the UK’s longest river?
Join us online for a screening of a documentary film all about Unlocking the Severn – the project that has this year unlocked the length of the River Severn for shad and other fish for the first time since weirs were built nearly 180 years ago! The film, written and directed by award-winning film-maker Nina Constable and presented by consummate wild places broadcaster Monty Halls shares insights about this rare fish, the project’s scientific monitoring of migrating shad, its citizen science programme, and the construction of massive fish pass structures that have unlocked 158 miles of vital river habitat.
With your chance to ask questions in a live Q&A with members of the project team after the film
