|stick welding aluminum| Sometimes you gotta put things back together and put a bunch of stuff together to make something you can use. Well what happens if you gotta make something out of aluminum but you don't have a tig machine and can't afford to get a spool gun for your mig welder? Just stick weld it. I used Hobart 4043 rods. They burn fast and they are hard to master but they do work. I would recommend getting good at stick welding steel before even attempting an aluminum stick weld. comment below to let me know how your aluminum welding experience went.
I noticed that the welder was sucking up way less wattage using these rods as compared to steel. 1/8" 7014 rods make the generator rev up there pretty good. these Aluminum rods didn't even get up to half Idle.
