Folio Society packed their boos VERY WELL and very thoughtfully, using those bags external to the boxes help the protect the boxes from being wet, which how boxes and therefore books often ended up destroyed. Plus, it helps with the physical handling of the boxes, again facilitating the protection of the boxes from possible damages due to handlings. They have also included a personal touch with slips of paper showing names of those who personally hand packed your lovely books :)
