i didn't feel quite done with metal yet, so since ‪@mrtreebeardsmusic‬ had already made a metal remix of "takedown" from k-pop demon hunters i figured i'd collaborate with him once again!

this time, however, i wanted to work with a true metal vocalist. i had wanted to work with one for my cover of "your idol" at first, but the timeline i had in mind for that project didn't seem conducive to bringing on new collaborators, and i also didn't think metal screams would suit the style of that cover specifically. however, with my cover of "takedown," i had a chance to try and work with a metal vocalist again! i specifically wanted to feature a femme metal vocalist. i feel like people make a lot of assumptions about what metal musicians look like, especially as it pertains to their gender. so it was important to me to be able to feature a talented women who makes metal music.

so i literally searched up "female nerdcore metal singer" and ended up on ‪@ZephyriannaCh‬'s cover of "poison" from hazbin hotel (you should check it out 👀:    • Zephyrianna - Poison Hazbin Hotel OST (Pop...  ). from her vocals, to her style as a creator, i IMMEDIATELY knew she would be perfect to work with. i was only further convinced by her zenless zone zero song, "ashes of victory" (which you should also watch it's so freaking good 👁️👁️:    • Zenless Zone Zero - Ashes Of ViCTØRY / Zep...  ).

this cover was such a joy to work on! i hope you all love it as much as we loved making it. :3 definitely let me know if you wanna see more metal covers in the future!
