On 13 December 2001, India witnessed one of the darkest and most defining moments in its democratic history.
In this gripping snippet from the Tanay Tulsaney Podcast, NND Dubey, Kirti Chakra awardee and senior BSF officer, recalls the chilling details of the Parliament attack—when 242 Members of Parliament were inside the House, a crucial session was underway, and the President had just exited the premises.
Five Pakistani suicide terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammed attempted to storm the Parliament using a redesigned Ambassador car loaded with explosives. Though the vehicle failed to blast, the attackers opened fire with AK-47 rifles, killing multiple security personnel in a brazen attempt to destabilize Indian democracy.
This was the first-ever terrorist attack on a functioning Parliament in the world, and India was bleeding that day.
Dubey sir explains what followed—the registration of the case under the Prevention of Terrorist Act, the investigation process, evidence recovered from the terrorists’ bodies, mobile and satellite phone linkages, and how the network connected to Ghazi Baba and overground workers (OGWs) was exposed.
A must-watch for anyone who wants to understand the real story behind the 2001 Parliament attack, straight from someone who lived through the counter-terror operations that followed.
