My sister Diane passed away eleven years ago.
For a long time after she was gone, I could still find her when I closed my eyes. Her laugh. The way her head tilted back. The little scar under her left eyebrow.
Now when I try... it slips away.
This isn't really a video about grief. It's about something quieter than that.
It's about a kitchen I walked out of when I should have stayed. About phone calls I kept meaning to make. About spending most of my life believing that simply showing up was enough — that the people I loved already knew how I felt without me ever having to say it.
They didn't.
I'm recording this because I'm 71 years old and I don't want to stay quiet about it anymore. I'm not here to give advice or tell you what to do. I'm just finally saying out loud what I wish I had understood a long time ago.
