Achieving SDG4 with LEO satellites and telecommunications.

Описание: Part 1 of My thoughts on how the long-term ambition of the United Nations, that all children have access to education, can be achieved using LEO Low Earth Orbit Satellite #telecommunications technology.

Education For All was a #UN target from the year 2000.
The #sdg4 target was for all children to be able to go to school, by 2015.
Unfortunately, the Education For All target was not reached.

Although much progress has been made, the covid pandemic resulted in things going backward.

I believe the target can be achieved, no matter how remote and cut-off individual children are located, in the world

LEO, or Low Earth Orbit satellites allow fast internet access, with low delay (latency).

This technology can be used to reach remote areas, that are uneconomic to serve, using terrestrial cellular technology.

Currently, less than half of the world has access to the Internet.
This shocking statistic particularly affects women and girls.

Connecting the whole world to the internet would help both with access to education, but also economic empowerment.

Article 26 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “Everyone has the right to #education.”
