Different Bitcoin addresses explained (sort of)

Описание: There are several different types of Bitcoin address you can use - legacy (or P2PKH), pay-to-script (or P2SH), Bech 32, and there are bound to be more in the future.

If you generate a private key, you can then derive any or all of these addresses, and they will all work. I was asked the question, "If you credit one of the addresses with some bitcoin, will the balance show up against the other addresses if you go to a blockchain explorer and look?"

The immediate answer is, "No", but the more involved answer is "It depends".

In this video, I explain these answers and provide a brief overview of how the different Bitcoin addresses work.
