Описание: The presentation talks about the preservation of the Akimel O'otham basketry and the many changes it has gone through from when I was a young girl up until now 2023. Topics include harvesting natural and domesticated material, processing it and the changes in our community that has had an effect on the way we weave and where we get our materials today. The technique is still the same from long ago as well as the lessons that come with weaving. We will also talk about the cultural traditions that surround a weaver when learning this art form.
