This video shows the complete installation process of a UTL 3 kW subsidy-based on-grid solar system at a customer site. It covers all stages, including materials used, rooftop structure installation, wiring, inverter setup, and protection systems. The installation starts with mounting the solar structure on the roof using proper marking, drilling, fasteners, and support beams, followed by installing solar panels securely. Conduit pipes are used for wiring to ensure long life, MC4 connectors are connected in series, and all cables are neatly fixed.

After the structure and wiring, a lightning arrester is installed for safety. The inverter installation includes mounting a 3 kW UTL grid-tie inverter (with 10-year warranty), along with ACDB and DCDB boxes, proper earthing, and cable management. The inverter display turns on after DC connection but starts working only once AC grid supply is available.

The installer explains that system capacity is decided based on the customer’s electricity bill and roof space. The company handles all documentation, load sanction, bank, and loan-related work, so the customer’s involvement is minimal. The cost of a 3 kW system ranges from ₹1.70 to ₹1.80 lakh, depending on structure height, wiring distance, and earthing. The system uses UTL 580 W TOPCon bifacial panels.

A central government subsidy of ₹78,000 is available for domestic installations (not commercial), while state subsidies may vary. UTL also handles large projects above 100 kW and offers on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar systems, with hybrid systems suitable for areas with frequent power cuts.
