Growing & Harvesting Soybeans 🌱 More Info on Growing Soybeans in the Description!

Описание: Soybeans are such an easy summer crop to grow! I personally like to use them for a side dish of edamame with potstickers or sushi. To get enough for one dish, you’ll need about 4 plants to be ready at the same time. Luckily that’s pretty easy to do.

Soybeans take 45-55 days to mature. They produce all of their beans at once. After harvesting, the plant will slowly die off. You can speed up the process by chopping it at the base after harvesting.

To maximize production, I practice succession sowing all summer long. Every 2 weeks I plant a new batch of seeds, usually 3-5 plants at a time. They have a quick germination rate and tolerate the summer heat really well (they’ve done fine in 105° temps here).

It’s also very easy to save seeds for next season! Simply leave a couple pods on the plant longer. They will start to dry out a bit and the beans on the inside will be black when ready to harvest for seed.
