Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said that it was “right for the country and right for the future” for him to receive a pardon in the corruption case in which he is currently standing trial.
Netanyahu, who is 76, closed the door on any questions about his intent to try to stay in power through next year’s elections and beyond at the 2025 DealBook Summit: “When history is within reach, you don’t step aside, you step forward, and that is what I am doing.”
