Описание:
Part 1 of the series is based on the RCA Circuit 16-19, featured in the RCA Solid-State Devices Manual SC-16 (1975). This classic quasi-complementary audio power amplifier showcases a front-end topology that exemplifies RCA’s minimalist yet effective engineering philosophy—practical, elegant, and sonically capable.
Measured specifications:
87.52 Wrms at 8 Ω, or 175.03 Wrms at 4 Ω.
For 1kHz: Rise Slew Rate ≈ 6.67 V/μs and Fall Slew Rate ≈ 17.79V/μs
For 5kHz: Rise Slew Rate ≈ 6.76 V/μs and Fall Slew Rate ≈ 27.38V/μs
THD= 0.05651% , THD+N= 0.08610% , SNR=64dB
The MJL3281A that were used in the prototype are an original Motorola's PowerBase series audio transistors. Newer variants like the MJL3281AG or MJW0281A are available as substitutes.
