Proactive Condition Based Maintenance Strategies for Improved Plant Reliability

The goals of reducing downtime and moving to a more proactive maintenance strategy requires management commitment to put into place intelligent maintenance and repair practices in order to identify the root cause of unplanned shutdowns and take the necessary steps to prevent future occurrences. Major chemical and refining manufacturers significantly improved their plant reliability by creating teams and programs that require a combination of maintenance improvement strategies that deliver sustainable value and address the root cause of longstanding challenges. We will look at specific examples of the significant improvements in plant reliability that were achieved as a result of better utilization of their existing installed intelligent measurement assets.
