Employees of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) staged a protest at the SMC office in Srinagar on Saturday, demanding the immediate release of their pending salaries. The protesting employees said they have not received their salaries for the past three months, causing severe financial hardship for them and their families. Raising slogans, they appealed to the SMC Commissioner and concerned authorities to intervene and resolve the issue at the earliest.
The employees warned that if their demands are not met soon, they will intensify their agitation in the coming days. Meanwhile, officials have not yet issued any response to the protest or the salary delay.
