🔥Tee Grizzley Type Beat 2017 - Bloodas (Prod. By @HozayBeats) | Detroit Type Instrumental | Lil Durk
Who is Tee Grizzley?
Early life[edit]
Born in Detroit, Grizzley was raised by his grandmother in the Joy Road area of West Detroit.[1] In middle school, he founded the musical group, AllStars Ball Hard along with three of his friends.[1] In 2011, his mother was sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking. His father was murdered in 2012.[1]
On July 1, 2014, Tee Grizzley was one of three people arrested following an attempted robbery at a jewelry store in Lexington, Kentucky.[3][4] On September 30, 2015, he was sentenced to 18 months to 15 years for several robberies at Hubbard Hall on Michigan State University campus that took place in February 2014.[5] On October 16, 2016, he was released from Michigan prison.[6]
Career[edit]
He first released "First Day Out" in November 2016. The music video, posted to YouTube, gained over 2 million views in less than three weeks.[7] He later signed to 300 Entertainment in 2017.[8] He released his second single, "Second Day Out", in February 2017.[9] His third single "From The D To The A" featuring Lil Yachty was released in March 2017.[10] He released "No Effort" and its accompanying music video on March 31, 2017.[11] His debut mixtape My Moment was released on April 7, 2017.[12] Grizzley said that his record sales tripled after his song was featured in a LeBron James Instagram post.[13][14] Grizzley's song "Teetroit" was released on July 28, 2017.[15] The single "Beef", featuring Meek Mill, was released on September 1, 2017.[16] He received two 2017 BET Hip Hop Award nominations for Best New Hip-Hop Artist and Best Mixtape for My Moment.[17] He released the song "Win" on October 6, 2017.[18] He released the song "What Yo City Like" with rap artist Lil Durk on November 30, 2017.
Days after dropping their new single, "What Yo City Like?" Tee Grizzley and Lil Durk have shared the cover art for their Bloodas mixtapet. It's pretty high on the menacing scale.
The new cover features a ferocious-looking grizzly bear and a vulture that looks a little sinister. Obviously, Tee's rap name is a reference to grizzly bears, and Durk dropped a joint project called Supa Vultures with Lil Reese a few months ago. Based on the one single they've released so far, the cover is definitely on-brand.
"What Yo City Like?" is basically a grimier version of Tee Grizzley's Lil Yachty-assisted track, "From the D to the A," featuring a more ominous instrumental and vicious lyrics about street life. There's no Lil Boat to brighten this one up.
"My city had changed the culture/I be with vultures/I can be with you for days, and I'll be the nigga that poke you/What your city like?" spits Durk, who hails from Chicago. In the next part of the track, Tee answers his question.
"My city the home of Meech, home of the riots/My city violent, niggas'll tell you they love you/But really they don't even like you," spits Tee in the back and forth. If you didn't know, he's from Detroit.
We'll get a more detailed glimpse of Tee Grizzley and Durk's respective neighborhoods when Bloodas drops on Friday (Dec. 8).
