Axolotls (Ambystoma mexicanum), also known as Mexican walking fish are actually not a fish, but an amphibian. Most axolotls never completely metamorphose into their terrestrial form, and live their entire lives in water. Providing you keep them in cool clean water (15-20C, 59 - 68F) with a balanced nutritional diet axolotls can live for around 10-18 years and make great pets.
