Everything is over the top, everything is untrue, and you'll chuckle, anticipating
how, in tragic scenes, the actors will "tear passion to shreds," wringing their hands and rolling their eyes. And then... then, in the frame's trembling, dilapidated space, a slender female figure will appear, with an even slenderer, breathtakingly slender waist, deep eyes, and a sensually tragic set of lips, and you'll suddenly feel unable to tear your gaze away from her, and when this woman pauses for a moment before a fateful (sic!) decision, your heart will stop too...
And then, when the old "film" ends, and ends badly for the heroine (and almost all films with Asta Nielsen end badly), you, furtively wiping your for some reason reddened eyes, will awkwardly justify yourself to your surprised family—"Well, I overstayed my welcome in front of the monitor..."—and you'll understand what a miracle Asta Nielsen is.
