Описание: Hymenopus coronatus or Pink Orchid mantis is one of the most beautiful mantis in the world no wonder they are highly demanded and is very popular amongst arthropod hobbyist and collectors. orchid mantis colors can change depending on the exact camouflage required in the mantis's habitat, or even with their diet, some are deep pink, whites, purple, yellow, green, or brown.

Adult female grow up to 3.5 inches in leght, from the tropical forest of southeast asia originated from western ghats of India, to Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar and Indonesia.
Sadly they can only live up to 8-9 mos for the female and if she dont too much hungry, a male partner can survive and reach that 5-6 mos marriage contract.

Mantises ootheca or their egg sac, may varies in shapes depending on species to species. this orchid mantis produce an elongated oothecca containing up to 300 offspring, but not all of them survives and reach adulthood due to many perilous factors. and they take 2 months to hatch.

What an interesting and beautiful mantis isn’t it? A very suitable subject for both creepy and yet beautiful centipede.

These are the Materials I used:
• 1mm aluminium wire (for the main body)
• 0.8mm bronze wire (for the limbs)
• 2 parts epoxy (for bonding the wires)
• Yarn (reinforcement for the wires)
• Aluminium foil (bulking the abdomen)
• Masking tape (securing the aluminium foil)
• Tissue paper (wrapping the legs)
• PVA glue (adhesive for the paper)
• Premo white (for the main body)
• Pink colored polymer clay _ china brand (for coloring)
• Soft pastel (for coloring)
• 2 parts resin (as adhesive and filler)
• Plastic bristles (for the tarsus, antennae, cerci, spines and pedipalp)
• Super glue (adhesive for the plastic parts)
• UV Resin (for the eyes)
PAINTS USED:
 Titanium white (for the white areas)
 Alizarin crimson, titanium white and acrylic medium (for all the pink areas)
 Raw sienna, burnt sienna, alizarin crimson and sap green (for the abdomen lines, anal and antennae)
 Raw sienna (for the tarsus and meso/metathorax area)
 Aqua blue, alizarin crimson (for the lines of her eyes)
 Sap green and bus yellow (for the eye wash)
 Burnt umber and black (for the pseudopupil)
VARNISHES:
DECOART Water based Polyurethane Varnish of
 Gloss
 Matte
***You can also use other types and Brands of water based varnish
Like, Decoart Americana; Varathane; Davies/ Boysen clear emulsion
