Vox's Design History in Hazbin Hotel (2018-2024)

One of my favourite characters is vox, but he also has a really interesting design history you probably aren’t familiar with. Let me explain.

So vox was first mentioned by vivziepop on december 17th 2018, where she said she was going to create a character inspired by dubstep that alastor would hate. In the second reply she included an image of vox, with his old black colour palette.

This technically isn’t the first time vox was shown though, we saw him various times during the inside of every demon is a rainbow scene which was uploaded on Oct 6, 2018. We see him a total of three times with 3 different designs. He has a monocle in one shot, a rainbow coloured suit in another, and in the last one he resembles karen from spongebob.

We can tell this is vox because of his bent antenna, tophat and grin.

During early 2019 the other scenes of the pilot were finalized, like the scenes with the 3 vee’s and vox was upgraded from a background character to an antagonist. So as a result we have an interesting situation where vox appears 5 times in the pilot, though his apparence varies wildly it would be too time consuming to go back and redo old scenes.
