The Director of Administration, Sonja Akright, eloquently preserves the history of Lake Geneva through a series of exquisitely curated and finely crafted historical exhibits. In the video, we discuss the Geneva Lake Museum in further detail, along with a relatively new Convention honoring the legacy of Gary Gygax, Dragon Days, a day of family fun filled activities centered around Dungeons & Dragons and her latest book “The Sanitariums of Lake Geneva”, a book regarding the five historical sanitariums and the impact that they’ve had on the people of Lake Geneva, the culture and the co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons himself, Gary Gygax.

Sonja stays extremely busy, not only with the passion she has with her work at the Geneva Lake Museum, but also engaging on a newly created convention, honoring Gary Gygax’s birthday, EGG CON and Dragon Days, a fall festival that honors the legacy of Dungeons & Dragons, providing fun for the entire family that provides them with the opportunity to engage in various planned events within Lake Geneva. Moreover, Sonja has found time to talk about a recent book release from 2024 titled “The Sanitariums of Lake Geneva”, a book regarding the history of five well known sanitariums in Lake Geneva and the history surrounding all give locations.
