The campaigning for the assembly elections in Punjab and Goa came to an end with both states going to polls on Feb 4. The Election Commission has issued a detailed guideline to the District Election Officers in the two states to ensure prohibition 48 hours before the end of polls. The EC has also imposed complete prohibition on broadcast or propagating election-related material on TV, radio or newspapers. Any such material influencing the voters would not be permissible during the 48 hours before the poll. The gruelling campaign concluded for all the 117 seats of Punjab and 40 seats of Goa ahead of the February 4 single-phase polling in the two states where BJP is in power.
