So this is my RevueFlex 3000 SL, that i recently bought from a local market (Romania) for less than 20 Euros. The camera was in mid condition, full of dirt and dust. I was happy that all the functions worked properly so I cleaned it up.
This camera was produced in the 70's by the Japanese manufacturer Chinon, and sold in the Europe and Germany by Foto-Quelle (a German retailer).
There are 3 identical cameras on the market. The Chinon CX (the original one) and the two rebranded copies: RevueFlex 3000 SL (full black) and RevueFlex 2000 CL (silver and black).
The camera is a tank. It's very big and heavy for a SLR camera. The premium materials and chrome details gives you a pleasant user experience.
About the specs, the camera has a M42 mount, which is great. The shutter speeds goes from B (bulb) to 1 second, 1/2s, 1/4s, 1/8s, 1/15s, 1/30s, 1/60s, 1/125s, 1/250s, 1/500s and 1/1000s.
You can also set the ISO of the film from ASA 10 to ASA 1600.
The shutter is made of metal. It has an automatic frame counter that resets each time the back door is opend.
It also has a marking for the film type that you load in. You can mark this by switching the ring placed beneath the rewind button. You can mark your film as Black & White, Color Daylight (D), Color Tungsten (T) or Empty (to avoid opening the camera when it's loaded).
The most beautiful part is that this camera has a built in multi-exposure function which makes it very creative and versatile. The small switch that turns red blocks the film winding so when you want to double expose your image, all you have to do is to load the shutter and release it. It's actually the same process as taking a single shot.
The worst part about this camera is that it has a built-in light meter (nothing wrong so far), but this one only works with 1.65V button batteries (A625 mercury batteries) that are no longer produced and are hard to find. The 1.5V common batteries (LR44) are to weak for this camera and these are not able to lift the needle of the light meter. But this is not a problem, I personally use the Ligh Meter app made by WBPhoto.
