Amid a freefalling economy and a growing food crisis, the Taliban-ruled Afghanistan is receiving a considerable assistance from its South Asian neighbour India. New Delhi, which had earlier sent medicines and clothing, has now sent the first consignment of the 50,000 tonnes of wheat it has promised to the war-torn country. This is the first time the aid was sent via road as Pakistan—the arch enemy of India, came on same page with New Delhi and the international community in helping its western neighbour.
