Verse 1 (Psalm 22:1–2)
My God, my God, why have You gone?
I cry by day — no answer comes.
By night I call, no rest I find,
Yet still You reign, the Holy One.

Verse 2 (Psalm 22:6–8)
Scorned and mocked by those around,
They shake their heads, they taunt me down:
“Let the Lord rescue him,” they say —
But You, O God, are not far away.

You brought me forth from my mother’s womb,
