A Promise to the World

Wouldn’t you like a world of freedom, wouldn’t you like a world of peace,
It’s not so hard if we all together, follow the dream...
We follow the dream

More than 50 years ago, born of pain and misery
The world’s leaders spoke together, and their words made history
Looking back at too much suffering, disregard for human rights
Arrogance and barbarism, and misuse of force and might
They relit the torch of freedom, gave man back his dignity
Reconfirming all those values, of true world democracy

It’s a promise to the world, to the people of all nations
For the rights and hope of man, and our highest aspirations
It’s a promise to the world, for the right to dignity
A universal declaration of the human family
And our right to be free
