This video documents the progressions of several unmanned systems used for waterfowl hazing at the Berkeley Pit in Butte, MT. Fairweather IT has been contracted by Atlantic Richfield to develop several different aerial and surface platforms for bird hazing and deterrence.
This video shows our aerial platform called the Waterfowl Interdiction Management Plate (WIMP) that can be attached to a variety of off the shelf UAVs. It also displays the Waterdog boat in several of its iterations starting with a propeller driven fan boat and later shown with a thruster driven skid steer upgrade. The video finishes by showing the progression of a fleet of 6 pontoon boats used as a swarm starting with some ground based rovers that were then turned into the boat version for on water use. All of these vehicles can be driven manually or programmed for autonomous missions depending on use case and can be used simultaneously for a mixed approach to waterfowl hazing and management.
