Mockingbirds are mimids, meaning that they are in the Mimidae family of birds. This family includes thrashers, catbirds, and tremblers, along with mockingbirds. Mimids are known for their ability to sometimes imitate other bird species. In this video this mockingbird does a short imitation of an American Crow at around 18 seconds.
According to Cornell: "Northern Mockingbirds continue to add new sounds to their repertoires throughout their lives. A male may learn around 200 songs throughout its life."
