Описание: On this hike I took on the popular 10mile route of the Coledale Horseshoe in the Lake District with my new Instinct Solar watch, kindly sent to me by Garmin. [ad]

The route was fun, the views were insane, we had a blast and the watch is honestly incredible. Such a game-changer for anyone who spends a lot of time on the hills or in the outdoors in general.

*Whilst you can navigate and follow a course like I did, the Instinct Solar doesn’t have preloaded maps like some of the other Garmin watches. What you can see on the watch is the line to follow your course and it gives you a prompt of when a turn is coming up (it doesn’t show you rivers, roads etc) which was perfect for me to be able to navigate the Coledale Horseshoe. I had the route planned in the OS Maps app, and it was super simple to get that route onto my watch to follow out on the trail which is great for loads of reasons – you don’t need to get your phone out in bad weather, it’s not a problem if your phone battery is dying in the cold, and you don’t need to rely on phone signal etc.
