Southern Shaolin One-Finger罗汉拳 (Yīzhǐ Luóhàn Quán)
Origin:
This style originated from the Southern Shaolin Temple, blending the dynamic power of Southern Shaolin boxing with the concept of "One-Finger Zen" (Yizhi Chan). It is a traditional fist method that emphasizes both internal cultivation (Qi) and external application, symbolizing the unity of Zen and martial arts.
Combat Meaning:
Its techniques focus on concentrating force into a single finger (usually the index finger). In combat, this is used for precise, penetrating strikes to an opponent's vital points (acupoints), tendons, or nerve clusters. The aim is to incapacitate with minimal, highly targeted movements—using sharp, short-range power to disrupt the opponent's structure and flow, rather than relying on brute force. It trains the practitioner to channel their whole-body power into one precise point for maximum effect.
