Iconic Architecture: the Sun Temples of the Old Kingdom

Описание: Though only half a dozen or so of these were built, the so-called sun temples of the 5th dynasty marked a permanent shift in Egyptian religious thinking.

Their distinctive shape, notable because they do not match our usual expectations of what an Egyptian temple looked like, is very memorable. But how accurate is our mental image?
