When Alan visited with Dr. Liz Phelps of New York University, he participated in the Implicit Association Test. Developed by researchers at Harvard University, University of Washington, and University of Virginia, this test measures a person's degree of subtle biases when s/he encounters people of another race or ethnicity.
Following his interview with Phelps, Alan met with legal expert, Dr. Nita Farahany, to understand how big a problem race bias is within the criminal justice system.
