Back on LoRa APRS this month. After rebuilding the "Ultimate LoRa APRS Tracker" and building the "Battery Powered LoRa APRS iGate", this time we're putting together a LoRa APRS TNC. With the latest (3.1) iGate/digipeater firmware from Ricardo Guzman, it's now possible to configure an MQTT server that will receive all incoming APRS messages. This opens up a lot of interesting opportunities, like triggering real world actions based on received APRS messages. I'll dive into that in a future video, but for today I'll be preparing and setting up the hardware for a LoRa APRS TNC. The TNC functionality will be available through both WiFi and (USB) serial. In addition it will able to fulfil the roles of iGate and/or digipeater. Combined with the already mentioned MQTT and the ability to log to a remote syslog-server, this is a quite capable device.
