The University of Clermont Auvergne is a major university for training and research, training more than 40,000 students each year in various types of courses, including more than 15% of international students. Its 173 programmes, 43 research structures and more than 3,700 staff make it an innovative and committed university as well as an essential player in territorial development, strongly connected to its environment and to the socio-economic world, notably through its six campuses established all over the Auvergne region (Clermont-Ferrand, Aurillac, Le Puy-en-Velay, Montluçon, Moulins and Vichy).

The CAP 20-25 initiative (https://cap2025.fr/en), which has been awarded the I-SITE label under the Programme d'Investissement d'Avenir, has supported the development of this new integrated research university, based on an identifying thematic signature, "to design sustainable living and production models"
