How to make my favourite Old Fashioned cocktail recipe
1.5 oz or 45 ml Barrel strenght Bulleit Bourbon
1 Teaspoon or 5 ml Gum Demerara syrup
3 Dashes Angostura bitters

How to make a Gum Syrup the Old Fashioned way

in a bowl place 8 gr Arabic gum powder with 10 gr water
Cover and let "bloom" at room temperature for 24 hours
In another bowl mix 150 gr of Demerara sugar with 65 gr of hot water. Stir until dissolved
Pour over the wet gum mixture, stir and bottle up
Store in the fridge. Last for about 4 weeks

I love Old Fashioned variation because sometimes, I feel a regular Old Fashioned is a little too sweet or flat. But let's faceit I love a good bourbon drink recipe so I'm always down to play with the Old Fashioned cocktail recipe.
